Manual Accounting System
Accounting glossary · Understand, connect, apply
A manual accounting system relies primarily on people recording, classifying, posting and summarizing transactions by hand rather than through automated processing.
Example
A small organization records invoices in a paper journal and posts them to handwritten ledger accounts.
Remember the difference
Manual does not mean uncontrolled. Document references, reconciliations and review are still important.
